GILGIT: The first ever three-day long Gilgit-Baltistan women sports gala, renamed GB women’s fair 2020, ended on Friday. The event had commenced in Lalik Jan Stadium in Gilgit on Wednesday.

According to a press release issued by Gilgit-Baltistan chief secretary office, 10 teams participated from each district. The teams included 20 all-rounder students from schools, colleges and universities who participated in nine different sports including cricket, hockey, futsul, badminton, basketball, volleyball, squash, table tennis and tennis.

The whole event was organised by women from various walks of life and around 3,000 women and girls from all over the region were among the audience.

Many female parliamentarians also participated in the event to encourage young girls. A total of 30 stalls were set up by women entrepreneurs and 10 more by different departments in coordination with GBRSP.
