TORONTO, Jan 29: Passengers intending to travel from Pakistan to Toronto by PIA flights are upset with airline’s withdrawal of two-piece baggage rule, it was learnt here on Tuesday.

Canada office of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) issued a circular on Jan 24 in this regard.

It said :”The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan has imposed restriction on carriage of baggage on Toronto-bound flights due to payload restriction in view of the present airspace/ security constraints restriction. The two-piece baggage concept has been withdrawn. Therefore, effective from Jan 29 to March 31, carriage of checked baggage on all Pakistan-Toronto flights will be restricted on weight basis as follows: Economy Class 30 kg and Business Class 40 kg.”

The circular issued to all PIA agents in Canada also said: “No excess baggage will be accepted and hand baggage only to be allowed as per class entitlement.”
