[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies in Moscow,] A Soviet airliner with a number of foreign tourists abroad crashed near Moscow airport ... and Western airline official put the death count at 170. There was no immediate confirmation of the figure from Soviet officials who have only the bare details of the crash of the Soviet Aeroflot Ilyushin-62 which was flying to Moscow from Leningrad.
