TAXILA: The jail authorities arrested a woman for providing drugs in Attock jail as she came to meet her husband and son, incarcerating in drugs peddling case.

The woman, a resident of Jhang Bhattar, came to jail as visitor to see her husband and son both under trial in drugs peddling case and during body search, a lady searcher recovered hashish, heroin and ice weighing five grams recovered. Subsequently she was handed to area police for further legal action.

Jail authorities said the woman’s husband Fayyaz Ahmed facing trail under section 9-C of Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997 in drugs selling case booked and arrested on July 13, 2022 and son Mohaib Ullah facing trial under section 9-C of Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997 in drugs selling case booked and arrested on November 10, 2022.

Sources said surveillance of visitors after a security audit report about sneaking of drugs in Attock jail was issued by a premier intelligence agency.
