ISLAMABAD: A boy was murdered and his cousin injured over a petty issue in capital, police said on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Ahmed Ali and the injured as Haider Ali, they added.

The quarrel started when Ahmed Ali and Haider Ali while playing cricket hit the ball inside a house, annoying some inmates of the house who came outside the house and started abusing them.

In the meantime, a man pulled out a pistol and fired at Ahmed Ali, the police said, adding that the gunman also fired at Haider Ali when he along with another rushed to rescue Ahmed Ali and as a result he also sustained a bullet injury.

Shortly the gunman and others who accompanied him escaped from the spot, they said, adding that later the injured were shifted to hospital where Ahmed Ali was pronounced dead, while the condition of Haider Ali is critical.
