MUZAFFARGARH: Chief Minister Parvez Elahi has sought a summary for upgrade of Layyah district as division comprising Kot Addu, Taunsa and Bhakkar as districts.

The proposal [for the upgrade] was floated by city MPA Syed Rafaqat Gilani (PP-284) and the chief minister directed the senior member board of revenue (SMBR), who is assistant to CM, to submit a summary to the effect.

As per the proposal, the Layyah division will comprise Kot Addu, Taunsa and Bhakkar districts.

It merits mentioning that the chief minister has recently announced upgrade of Kot Addu tehsil as district and the Muzaffargarh officials have been directed to work in Kot Addu two days a week.
