ISLAMABAD: Pakistan saw two of its promising players, Hamza Khan and Noor Zaman, ousted on the second day of Chief of the Air Staff-Serena Hotels International Squash Championships at the Mushaf Squash Complex here on Thursday, leaving Farhan Zaman as the hosts’ last hope.
Top-seeded Egyptian Moustafa El Sirty cruised past Hamza 11-6, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9 in 43 minutes to reach the quarter-finals where he was joined by Curtis Malik, who tamed Noor 11-8, 6-11, 11-5, 11-9 in just over half an hour.
Farhan is the only local representation in the last eight after he overpowered Qatar’s Syed Azlan Amjad 12-10, 11-5, 12-10.
