ISLAMABAD: Two cases were registered against villagers over the Thursday’s clash with a housing society in the rural area of the capital, police said.

The first FIR was registered at Shahzad Town police station under section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act and 324, 0506ii, 148, 149, 427 and 109 of Pakistan Penal Code against five dozen people in response to a complaint lodged by Azhar Hameed.

The other FIR was registered under 506ii, 427, 535, 186, 148, 149, 376 and 337H(ii) of the PPC against 60 people in response to complaint lodged by Mazhar Hussain.

According to the FIRs, 50/60 villagers of Tamma armed with weapons, batons and axes attacked the inaugural ceremony of the housing project.

It said the villagers also damaged vehicles parked there and resorted to firing.
