TOBA TEK SINGH: Co-curricular and extracurricular activities play a key role in personality development for which the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) is providing all possible measures to refurbish the skills of the students, VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said on Tuesday at a ceremony to award medals to students in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

He said that without providing the proper platforms and opportunities, we cannot refurbish the hidden creativity of the students. He said the university was taking all possible measures to promote an environment of competition.

Arid Agriculture University VC Prof Dr Qamaruz Zaman said he hoped the young generation would focus on sharpening their skills, which was a guarantee of a bright future.

OBITUARY: The Government Girls Elementary School, Chak 156-GB, headmistress died and her son was critically injured in a road accident on Tuesday in Gojra.

Farzana Begum was a pillion rider with her son on his motorcycle when a car hit them. Both were injured critically. They were rushed to the Gojra THQ hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. However, her son was stated to be in a serious condition.

BURNT: A worker was burnt critically when the valve of a boiler exploded in a textile mill at Faisalabad on Tuesday.

At Arshad Textile Processing Mills, located at Khurrianlwala, Nazir Ahmad was at work near the boiler when suddenly it exploded, which triggered a fire and he was seriously wounded. He was rushed to the burn unit at the Allied Hospital.
