QUETTA: Two tribesmen were killed and seven injured in an attack by armed men in front of a sessions court here on Thursday, the police said.

Sardar Nasim Tareen was coming out of the court after a hearing when unidentified men attacked him with fists outside the court premises, leaving him injured.

In the meanwhile, armed assailants waiting outside the court opened fire, resulting in the injury of eight other men who were accompanying Mr Tareen.

Talking to Dawn, spokesperson for the Civil Hospital Dr Wasim Baig said that nine injured were brought to the hospital’s trauma centre.

The police said a case had been registered, although personal enmity between two rival groups of the same tribe appeared to be the motive behind the attack.
