DERA GHAZI KHAN: A special team of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has reached Dera Ghazi Khan to investigate the alleged allotment of government land to the family of former chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, increase in his assets during his tenure as the CM and other matters related to him.

According to information received by this scribe, an investigation has been launched into the allotment of government land to Usman Buzdar, his brothers Jafar Buzdar and Muhammad Ayub Buzdar and other relatives from 1982 to 1986 after the land reforms and the alleged increase in their assets after Usman became the CM.

Sources said the NAB team, led by Additional Director Malik Muhammad Zubair, reached DG Khan on Monday.

The team met the Taunsa assistant commissioner and the Border Military Police officers and asked for provision of record of the land allotted decades back, its rules and regulations from 1972 to date. It would also probe the allotment of land in 1998.

The sources said the NAB team would also seek the record of the anti-corruption department to review the bogus allotment land case registered with it and review its report.

NAB has sought the details of the officers posted in the revenue department, including patwaris and tehsildars, in Taunsa and tribal areas since 2017. The authority would evaluate the record of transactions of property to the Buzdar family.
