Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, while addressing a press conference in Islamabad, said that the PTI supporter who thwarted an assailant’s attack on party chief Imran Khan should be granted protection.

He said that the PTI worker’s statements were very important for the investigation into the incident and would be made a part of it.

Rafique also said that the assailant should be granted protection to prevent any pressure on him to give a concocted statement of choice.

“We also want to know where Imran Khan was given first aid [and] details should come out,” the minister added.
