President Dr Arif Alvi has offered to “mediate amongst stakeholders” for developing consensus on major issues, according to a press release from the President’s Secretariat.

“The president reiterated that all stakeholders should pursue their political objectives and find solutions to issues within the confines of democratic means of discussion, negotiation, consultation and deliberation,” the press release reads.

It added that the president offered his services in his personal capacity during a visit to Lahore’s Shaukat Khanum Hospital to enquire about the health of PTI Chairman Imran Khan after the assassination attempt on him.
