TAXILA: A woman was assassinated by unknown masked man near Dhalian Chowk in the limits of Pindigheb police station of Attock in early hours of Saturday.

Police while quoting the family of the deceased said Samina Bibi was going to some relatives’ house when unknown masked man showered her with bullets, killing her on the spot and escaped from the scene.

Moreover, the Attock police have arrested a man for abducting a married woman and taking her to Bhara Kahu area of the federal capital.

A team of Attock police, however, raided his house and recovered the woman.

Moreover, Injra Police arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a case registered against him on April 5.

Police raided his hideout in Piplan district Mianwali and arrested him.

Separately Hassanabdal police caught a thief red handed while stealing a steel fence along Islamabad-Peshawar motorway (M-1) near Pathargarh.

The 200-meter-long steel fence was recovered from the accused identified as Saif ullah.

Two SDPOs reshuffled

The Punjab Inspector general of police reshuffled Sub divisional officers of Taxila and Hassanabdal circles respectively.

Sub divisional officer of Taxila circle DSP Malik Mohammad Arif was transferred and directed to report to central police office Lahore while DSP Mian Afzal Shah was appointed in his place.

Sub divisional officer of Hassanabdal DSP Syed Ijaz Shah was transferred and directed to report to the central police office Lahore while ASP Ms Zaniab Ayub was appointed in his place respectively.
