KARACHI: In their demonstration on the fourth consecutive day on Sunday, a large number of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf workers, including women and children, gathered at the Five Star traffic intersection in North Nazimabad to stage protest against the assassination attempt on party chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan.
Led by Karachi chapter president Bilal Ghaffar, the PTI workers chanted anti-government slogans and also danced to the tunes of party songs. Carrying placards, party flags and banners, the protesters vowed to continue their struggle to achieve what they described as the ‘true freedom’.
Addressing the protesters, the party leaders thanked the people of Karachi for not giving up protest despite police ‘brutality’ and ‘attacks’ on party rallies.
They said the peaceful protest would continue across the city in line with call of the party chairman.
The protesters condemned the PDM government in the Centre for using force against protesters at Islamabad interchange and the PPP government in Sindh for using ‘brutal force’ in Karachi against the PTI rally in which police fired tear gas shells and used baton against PTI workers to stop them from entering the ‘red zone’.
