LOWER DIR: The ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leaders on Tuesday expressed resolve to foil all ‘attempts’ to weaken the armed forces.

Speaking at a joint news conference at the Timergara Press Club, JUI-F’s Lower Dir chief Sirajuddin, ANP’s general secretary Malik Mohammad Zeb, PPP’s former provincial minister Mehmood Zeb Khan, former district bar president Jehan Bahadar Advocate and others said the “demoralisation” campaign against the state institutions won’t be tolerated.

The PDM leadership came down hard on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan for what it called running a campaign against the state institutions just to please the country’s enemies.

They alleged the PTI leadership wanted to push the country toward lawlessness and anarchy. They said the PTI chief was desperate to become the prime minister at any cost. They said the PDM would fully support the army in defending the country against its enemies.

SCHOOL: Taking notice of public complaints, additional assistant commissioner, revenue, Tariq Khan on Tuesday visited the under-construction building of government high school, Khungi, in Timergara, and inspected the work progress.

He asked the contractor to complete the remaining work on the building as soon as possible so students could get education in a conducive environment.

He was informed that the contractor had left the work incomplete.

HEALTH FACILITIES: Medical superintendent of the District Headquarters Hospital, Timergara, Dr Asghar Ali has said the facility had been provided with modern machinery to provide quality healthcare to patients.

Talking to journalists on Tuesday, he said 95 per cent of clinical tests were conducted at the hospital’s laboratory at cheaper rates.

He said the dysfunctional image machine had been repaired. He said mammography, laparoscopy and portable X-Ray machines had been made available in the hospital. He said steps for sterilisation of surgery equipment had been taken.
