LARKANA: A large number of activists of Grand Democratic Alliance and Larkana Awami Ittehad took out a procession, from Waleed area to press club, in support of Pakistan Army on Wednesday.

The participants in the procession were riding motorcycles and cars and walking on foot waving national flags and chanting slogans in favour of army. They converged on Larkana Press Club before marching on main thoroughfares of the city.

Barrister Kazim Ali Abbasi, Rafi Abbasi, Ali Hassan Dahani and others, who led the activity, said that certain conspirators sitting within and without the country were talking against the army, which according to them, was unacceptable and intolerable as it had hurt sentiments of 220 million Pakistanis.

They said that like their compatriots in other parts of the country the people of Larkana stood by Pakistan Army. “Our soldiers are guarding the country’s frontiers and have laid down tremendous sacrifices for the safety of the motherland and its people,” they said.

“We cannot forget the sacrifices rendered by our soldiers,” they said, adding that since the country occupied an important position geographically and globally it had to face conspiracies from time to time.

They expressed solidarity with the army and said they stood by their institution and were ready to lay down their lives for its honour and dignity.
