BATTAGRAM: Police here on Sunday claimed to have arrested two proclaimed offenders and two drug peddlers.
A police official said that Banna police arrested two proclaimed offenders Naeem Ullah and Nasar Shah who were wanted in a double murder case.
He said that an Afghan national named Bilal, currently residing in Khandar village, was arrested with over two kilogrammes of hashish in the limits of Battagram police station during an operation.
He said that over one kilogramme of hashish was recovered from another drug peddler named Munawar Khan of Kanai village.
Separate cases have been registered against both the suspects.
STRIKE EXTENDED: Staffers of the Education Monitoring Authority (EMA), who are on a pen-down strike from November 1, have extended their protest in front of the divisional headquarters press club here in the district.
They have been demanding promotion after five years of service, change of nomenclature, service structure and payment of all dues.
Talking to this scribe, EMA staff leader Israr Ahmed and provincial coordination committee general secretary Farhan Khan claimed that unfortunately the high-ups of the education department were not accepting their genuine demands.
