ISLAMABAD : Pakistani OTT (Over The Top) platform Vidly.tv is set to release the original web series on the global entertainment arena by launching ‘Sevak - The Confessions’ next week.

“We have changed the landscape and set the standard for original web series coming out of Pakistan by raising the bar in terms of production size, quality and cost,” said Vidly Director Anjum Shahzad while talking to media on Saturday.

“We felt that the suspense espionage genre is still under utilised, so Vidly has come up with the stellar action thriller, Sevak - The Confessions,” Mr Shahzad said, adding that the next original web series by Vidly would be launched in January next year.

Vidly.tv has released the trailer for ‘Sevak: The Confessions’, while the action thriller web series based on true stories will be released on Nov 26.

“Pakistan has great potential when it comes to talent and we plan to showcase the same at a global level via Vidly Originals,” he added.

The series ‘Sevak’ is based on a keenly woven tale of terror and deceit, within the backdrop of true events between 1984 and 2022 in Indian state of Punjab.

The star cast of this series includes Mohsin Abbas, Hajra Yamin, Nazarul Hassan, Nayyer Ejaz, Adnan Jaffar and many others while the script writing has been done by legendary writer Sajjad Gul.

The action thriller revolves around a true story of an assassin that follows the journey of Vidya, a journalist, in quest to find out the truth behind the film star Jeet Singh’s death.

As the story moves on, Vidya is aided by Mannu, a key informant who leads her on a path to reveal the dark secrets of Jeet’s death.

She unwillingly enters the labyrinth of Mannu’s tales encountering many ghosts of his past.

The stories shared by Mannu unravel the horrors of hate crime, atrocities and genocide. As truth is revealed both of them find themselves in danger for their lives.

Mannu is navigating life with a deep story in his heart and as they encounter Vijay Karkare, Preet Kaur, Arun, Vinayak and Sadhu, the series thrills us with intrigue and mystery entwined in true events that blur the lines between fiction and truth, making the series all the more gripping.

The story unfolds multiple dimensions of espionage as each opens with another episode. The series also entertains the viewers with songs.
