SWABI/HARIPUR: Seven persons were killed in separate road accidents, five of them in Swabi and two in Haripur, the police and rescue officials said on Saturday.

A family belonging to Malikabad area of Gadoon Amazai was returning from Islamabad airport after picking a relative, namely Mohammad Asif, who had arrived from Dubai, when the car they were travelling in collided with a jeep near the Swabi interchange on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway.

As a result, Mohammad Zubair of Malikabad and his cousin, Mohammad Riaz of Anbar village, died on the spot. Three other members of the family, including Asif, were injured.

They were taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.

Also, three youth were killed and one was injured when two motorcycles collided on Topi-Kotha Road on Saturday, Rescue 1122 officials said.

Ahmad Ali, 16, and Amanullah, 15, died on the spot, while Tahir Khan, 25, and Abdullah, 20, were injured.

The bodies and the injured were taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, where Tahir also succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed and three others injured when two motorcycles collided near Changi Bandi Bridge in Haripur.

Police said Fahad Tahir, 19, of Bagra Village No 2, and Zaheer-ur-Rehman of Changi Bandi area, died on the spot. They said the deceased and the injured were shifted to the Haripur Trauma Centre, from where the injured were referred to Abbottabad Medical Complex in critical condition.
