RAWALPINDI: The Met Office on Monday predicted foggy conditions in different parts of the country and warned people to take safety measures accordingly.

According to the office, due to persistent dry weather, foggy conditions have developed in northeast and southern parts of Punjab, plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh and these conditions are likely to continue during the week particularly during the night and early morning hours.

While, very cold weather conditions in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, North Balochistan and parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It stated that foggy conditions may affect means of transportation and air quality may be unhealthy for sensitive groups while travellers are advised to remain cautious to avoid any untoward situation.

On Tuesday, cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded were: Leh -8°C, Skardu -6°C, Kalat, Ziarat -4°C, Astore, Gilgit, Hunza -3°C, Kalam, Quetta, Srinagar -2°C, Shopian, Pulwama and Bagrote -1°C.
