LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Saturday to have arrested four suspected members of a banned organisation in nine intelligence-based operations in different districts of the province.

According to a spokesman, the detained suspects have been identified as Ali Raza, Ali Akbar Zahir and Mahmood Naik Muhammad.

Three cases were registered against the suspects including FIR No. 25/22 under section 11-F(2)/11-H/11-N/11-W anti-terrorism act (ATA) in CTD Lahore PS, FIR No. 37/22 under section 9,11-W(2), 11-G(2) of ATA-1997 CTD Multan PS and FIR No 11/22 under section 11-W(2), 11-F(2) of the ATA 1997 CTD DG Khan PS. During the IBO, nine suspected people were also quizzed.

Officials seized banned literature and other items from the arrested suspects.

The spokesman said during the current week, 327 combing operations were conducted with the help of local police/LEAs. During these combing operations, 14,320 people were checked, 42 suspects were arrested and 39 FIRs were registered and 24 recoveries made.
