LAKKI MARWAT: The elders, traders and residents on Tuesday set up a protest camp in Bannu city against the killing of three traders from Bannu in North Waziristan, regretting that the killers could not be traced despite the lapse of one week.

Political and social activists, students, traders and other people participated in the camp arranged at Hafiz Abdul Sattar Shah Bukhari Chowk. They formed a committee of elders to finalise the future line of action.

The elders announced to observe a shutdown strike in Bannu city on Dec 9 (Friday) to record their protest against the murder of the traders. They said lawlessness prevailed in Bannu, Lakki Marwat and North Waziristan as the incidents of targeted killing were happening in the entire region.

They said the recent wave of terror attacks in Lakki Marwat was enough to prove that even the police were not safe. They said getting justice without agitation on roads had become almost impossible.
