Shahid Jutt, an international Kabbadi player and Muhammad Javed were the umpires, while Talib Husain was the scorer.

Hamza Randhawa, the captain of the winning team, told Dawn that sports at the college and school levels must be encouraged and players should be provided coaching and training facilities at their respective institutions.

Graduate College Principal Dr Mumtaz Ahmed and Information Director Aqeel Ishfaq distributed prizes among the players.

Later, addressing the students, they said it was unfortunate that traditional sports were being ignored at the grassroots level.

Imamia College Principal Shahzad Rafiq said the Higher Education Department (HED) must also provide financial support for coaching and training of outstanding players surfacing in different college-level tournaments.
