KASUR: District Police Officer Imran Karamat on Sunday suspended the Allahabad police station house officer (SHO) after his audio clip went viral on social media regarding plot to murder a proclaimed offender in a fake encounter.

Sheikhupura Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dr Inamullah had asked DPO Karamat to suspend SHO Asif Khan as an alleged audio of plan to kill the proclaimed offender in a murder case in a fake encounter was leaked.

As per content of the audio clip that went viral on social media, SHO Khan is allegedly heard talking to the complainant about the murder case.

He asks the complainant to trace the proclaimed offender, Hassan alias Mokal, and assign at least two informers with the task.

The SHO was also telling the person on phone that Hasan would attack him and he (SHO) would shoot him dead in retaliation.

According to Kasur police, it was not clear in the alleged audio whether the SHO was talking to the complainant or some informer.

Police said the SHO had joined the police station a few days back and it was out of question that he would kill in an encounter the man wanted by police in the case registered months back.
