LAHORE: Diamond Paints and FG/Din Polo won the opening-day matches of the Coca-Cola Lahore Open Polo Championship here at the Lahore Polo Club on Tuesday.

Four goals from retired Lt Col Omer Minhas inspired Diamond Paints to a 8-5 victory over Barry’s.

Ahmed Ali Tiwana smashed a brace while Mir Shoaib Ahmed and substitute player Hamza Ejaz converted one apiece. For Barry’s, Rulo Trotz struck four goals and Daniyal Sheikh one.

Meanwhile, FG/Din Polo overpowered the Remington Pharma 9-4. Tomas Marin Moreno scored three and was ably assisted by team-mates Shah Shamyl Alam, Mian Abbas Mukhtar and Raffay Shaikh, who hammered a brace each.

For Remington Pharma, all the four goals came from Hamza Mawaz Khan.
