CHARSADDA: The district administration has imposed ban on sale of compressed natural gas (CNG) at filling stations in the morning and evening timings to facilitate domestic consumers.

A notification, issued by Assistant Commissioner Alvena Faiz here on Tuesday, directed filling stations to refrain from selling CNG to commuters from 6am to 9am in the morning and 6pm to 9pm in the night to ensure smooth supply of gas to domestic consumers.

The decision was made after protests were held by domestic consumers against gas loadshedding and low pressure in different parts of the district. The domestic consumers complained that they faced power loadshedding in summer and low gas pressure in winter.

Officials said that the decision would mitigate sufferings of gas consumers to some extent. The domestic consumers welcomed the move by the assistant commissioner.
