ISLAMABAD: The top seeded pair of Waqas Malik and Mohammad Abid beat Muzamil Murtaza and Mudasir Murtaza 6-4, 7-6 (5) in the first-round of the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed National Ranking Tennis Cham­pionship here at the Islamabad Tennis Complex on Wednesday.

The second set was decided on a tie-break as the duo held their serves brilliantly. But the pair of Muzamil and Mudasir succumbed to the pressure and made unforced errors at crucial stages of the match which led to their defeat.
