LAHORE: Seasoned Pakistan pacer Diana Baig was named in the 15-member national squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup after recovering from a shoulder injury, the country’s cricket board announced on Wednesday.
Diana missed Pakistan’s home One-day International and T20 series against Ireland in October-November but will be available for the showpiece in South Africa along with spinners Sadia Iqbal and Tuba Hasan, who are also coming back from injuries.
Pakistan, led by Bismah Maroof, will tour Australia for three ODIs and as many T20s against the hosts before the World Cup. The national selectors have picked up a separate squad for the one-dayers.
Pakistan will fly out for Brisbane via Dubai from Karachi on January 6. The three ODIs will be played on January 16, 18 and 21, while the three T20Is will be held on January 24, 26 and 29. The team will then travel to South Africa from Melbourne to feature in the T20 World Cup.
