LAHORE: Pakistan captain Babar Azam was named as the skipper of HBL Pakistan Super League side Peshawar Zalmi for the tournament’s next edition on Wednesday.

Babar’s former side Karachi Kings traded him for another Pakistan international Haider Ali with Zalmi. The right-hander led the Kings in the last edition of the PSL but failed to take them to the playoffs.

Karachi Kings, meanwhile, reappointed seasoned Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim as captain. The left-handed batter was leading the Kings before they handed Babar the responsibility last year. The PSL’s eight edition kicks off on February 9.
