LAHORE: Lahore was rather calm today [Dec 14] except for some minor clashes between the students and the police. The students brickbatted police at the Dayal Singh College and the area lying between Islamic College Civil Lines and the old University campus. There were more outsiders than students themselves. The police had to fire some tear gas shells to disperse the students who wanted to form a procession in violation of Sec. 144.

About 100 girl students took out a procession to protest against the treatment meted out to students and the attack on the lawyers’ procession on Wednesday [Dec 13]. — News agencies
