KOHAT: The officials of administration and other departments in a joint anti-encroachment operation on Thursday recovered 204 kanals of the irrigation department on which a housing society was being constructed.
Additional deputy commissioner Bashir Ahmed accompanied by officials of the irrigation and revenue departments and tehsil municipal administration and additional assistant commissioner used heavy machinery to demolish the plotting.
The price of the retrieved property was estimated to be Rs1.20 billion, said the revenue officials. The land was handed over to the irrigation department after its retrieval from the mafia.
Mr Ahmed said that nobody would be allowed to occupy the state property.
CT SCAN MACHINE: The provincial health department has approved a CT scan machine for the divisional KDA teaching hospital.
Commissioner, Kohat division, Mahmood Aslam Wazir who visited the hospital on Thursday was requested by its medical superintendent to expedite the provision of the CT scan machine by engaging with the health department.
Mr Wazir gave an assurance that he would take up the issue with the relevant authorities for early supply of the machine and other equipment.
The MS said that the patients had to spend thousands of rupees at private hospitals for such facilities. Besides, a fair price shop has been opened inside the hospital for the benefit of the patients.
ARRESTED: The police of rural and urban circles here on Thursday arrested 10 proclaimed offenders wanted in murder cases, their 13 facilitators and eight drug peddlers among 308 suspects during an operation.
District police officer Abdur Rauf supervised the operation during which the police seized three Kalashnikovs, three rifles, two repeaters, four shotguns, 15 pistols and 42 kilogrammes of hashish.
The cases were registered against criminals by respective police stations.
