Jin of BTS joins military service

K-pop superstar Jin of BTS become the boy band’s first member to enter the army, officially ending a chapter for the iconic septet.

The 30-year-old arrived at an army training camp in Yeoncheon, less than 10 miles from the Demilitarised Zone that separates the two Koreas. Jin, who showed off a freshly shaven head on social media, will be in uniform for 18 months.

All able-bodied South Korean men are required to serve in the military. Some thought BTS would be granted a special exemption due to their contributions of promoting the country’s international image.

In October, the band’s management company announced that all members of BTS would fulfil their military service and would regroup afterward, around 2025.

Superman: Lost miniseries announced by DC

DC’s Man of Steel is about to go on a one-of-a-kind journey. The publisher announced Superman: Lost, a ten-issue miniseries to be launching on March 14th, as part of Superman’s 85th anniversary celebration. Lost will reunite writer Christopher Priest and artist Carlo Pagulayan, the Eisner-nominated team behind DC’s previous Deathstroke run.

The series will see Clark Kent thrown into a unique set of circumstances, after a Justice League mission leaves him suddenly stranded in space for 20 years. On his return, nothing and no one seem familiar to him anymore.

New Doctor Strange series announced

Superheroes usually don’t stay dead for long, so Doctor Strange is back from the dead in a new self-titled ongoing series in March. Stephen Strange was killed in the Death of Doctor Strange event, with Clea taking his place as Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme in Strange.

The series will find Doctor Strange investigating a shocking mystery that promises to strike at Strange’s legacy and purpose. The journey that follows will harken back to the iconic hero’s psychedelic and otherworldly storytelling, taking readers to places only Strange would dare to go and introducing enemies only he could hope to defeat, including a brand-new threat that Strange shares a personal connection with.
