QUETTA: The Balochis­tan government has established a parliamentary commission to review each case of missing persons and play a role in their recovery.

According to the notification issued by the Balochistan home department here on Friday, a high-powered parliamentary commission has been established in the wake of Balochistan High Court order on Nov 17, 2021.

Panel to help families of those not involved in terrorist activities

The commission, to be headed by Balochistan home minister, will comprise provincial ministers Mir Asadullah Baloch and Engineer Zmarak Khan Achakzai, BNP parliamentary leader Malik Naseer Ahmad Shahwani, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam leader Mir Zabid Ali Reki as its members, while additional chief secretary (home affairs) Zahid Saleem will work as its secretary.

The notification stated the commission would make efforts for the recovery of cases of missing persons on a case-to-case basis and would also devise procedures to help and support the families of those missing persons who are not involved in anti-state or terrorist activities.
