CHARSADDA: Domestic consumers have complained that they face the issues of gas loadshedding and low pressure despite closure of CNG stations in the district.

On the other hand, passengers also faced difficulties to reach their destinations owing to closure of CNG stations as public transport remained off the road.

The closure of CNG stations improved supply of gas to domestic consumers in some areas.

However, the gas supply remained suspended to Charsadda Old Market, Rajar, Utmanzai, Umarzai and other areas. The problems of gas loadshedding and low pressure in these areas were not resolved.

Domestic consumers said that they had not benefited from the closure of CNG stations and gas loadshedding continued unabated. Before the closure of NG stations, the government should have planned to ensure uninterrupted supply of gas to domestic consumers, they added.

VISIT: DIG Mohammad Ali Khan visited the house of martyred constable here the other day and offered condolence to the bereaved family.

Muzamil Shah, a constable of Frontier Reserve Police (FRP), was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Saturday. DPO Sohail Khalid and Deputy Commissioner Qasim Ali Khan were also present on the occasion.

The DIG said that the blood of the martyred constable would not go waste. He said that the people involved in the murder would be brought to book.

SALARY: Postal employees have threatened to boycott their duty and move a court of law if their pending salaries are not paid at the earliest.

Addressing a meeting here on Tuesday, they said that they had not received their salaries for the last eight months.

They also rejected the Rs1,600 monthly salary paid to them under the 1936 Act.

They said that they would launch an agitation if their monthly salaries were not brought at a par with the employees of other departments.

The postal employees said that their daily wages were only Rs50, which was against the labour laws.
