Everyone should work

This is with reference to the article, “Everyone should work,” by Mahira Aziz (YW, December 10). Every man and woman can do any work, no matter what the work is.

For instance, a man can be a successful chef and a woman can be a successful business woman. Gender cannot specify the work of any person; but sadly, even in this technologically advanced world, most people have backward thinking and they designate daily chores on the basis of gender.

It is time that we should make kids aware that everyone is equal and there is no such work as girls’ only and boys’ only.

Men and women are different genders, however, both are humans and capable of doing almost all things, it is just that they both have their own way of doing and approaching things.

The story “Everyone should work”, by Mahira Aziz nicely described that every gender is equal. Nobody is superior and inferior. So, we should treat both genders equally and never consider any work as the responsibility of only a man or a woman.

In almost every household, where there are siblings, the work is distributed gender-wise and the story “Everyone should work” by Mahira Aziz narrated exactly the same situation.

Everyone should play their part in doing household chores. It is not mandatory that only girls are responsible for cooking or cleaning the rooms, boys should equally participate in cooking and cleaning, and should not feel embarrassed doing so.

Besides, parents also have to teach these everyday tasks to their children. By following all these strategies, we can help our youth practice equality.

Let’s write the right way

This is regarding the cover article “Let’s write the right way” by Yasmin Ilahi (YW, December 3). I appreciate the writer for motivating and guiding the readers to write perfectly.

The writer gave very useful tips and guidelines to avoid doing mistakes when writing, as mostly, budding writers forget essential points and do silly little mistakes, resulting in an uninteresting piece of writing.

The writer also stressed on reading more for writing a good piece, because reading gives a unique flare to your thoughts and you are more able to express yourself than those who don’t read.
