The attackers escaped the area.

A Rescue 1122 spokesperson said a team shifted the body and the injured to a hospital.

A police official said constable Izzat Khan filed a report, stating he was going to his relative’s house on a motorcycle when a motorcyclist hit his bike and pulled a gun at him in a bid to rob him near the Chashma Right Bank Canal checkpost.

He said when he resisted, the robber opened fire, injuring him seriously. Later, he said the robber snatched his wallet, mobile phone and also took away his motorcycle’s key.
