KOHAT: During a three-day operation, the police arrested 26 proclaimed offenders, 82 drug peddlers and two Afghan nationals and seized arms and drugs from them.

The seizure included five Kalashnikovs, 75 pistols, seven rifles, nine shotguns, four repeaters, 160 chargers, 3,000 cartridges, 160kg hashish, 530 grams of ice drug and 280 grams of heroin.

According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, the police also impounded 130 motorcycles without number plates.

Meanwhile, the district administration officials picked six children and a woman beggar from different streets and shifted them to a welfare centre on Wednesday.

According to a statement, the child protection officer had been asked to contact the parents of children and motivate them to enroll them in schools.
