RAWALPINDI: An armed clash between two groups of private housing societies in Baghra village of Chakri on Thursday night left one person dead and another injured.

The deceased was identified as Muzamil Shah, who belonged to Sargodha. It was the second such incident in the area within two days.

On Tuesday, one person was killed and two others were injured in a shootout between the police and the land mafia during a police search operation in Chakri.

According to police, an exchange of gunfire took place between Zahid Khan group and Naeem Ijaz of a private housing society on Tuesday.

As the police tried to encircle Zahid Khan group, they opened fire. Later, an operation was launched by the police which led to the arrest of 11 people.
