LAHORE: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), Multan, is establishing a theme restaurant in the historical Qasim Bagh Fort by using railway coaches.
Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab retired Capt Saqib Zafar asked the Pakistan Railways chairman to provide three coaches to Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan cities for setting up cafes there.
A railway coach was provided for Multan for setting up the Green Cafe at Qasim Bagh Fort and the PHA has been tasked with completing the project. The coach was placed in the fort and it would be decorated according to the local environment and needs.
The Green Cafes are being established keeping in mind the concept of a liveable city where entertainment and environment will also be made conducive for business meetings. Railway coaches will also be provided to Bahawalpur and DG Khan.
PHA Director General Asif Rauf Khan visited the fort where the railway coach was placed to develop it into a cafe.
PHA spokesperson Jalal said the authority was planning to set up restaurants in parks of the city to facilitate the citizens.
He added that the restaurants would be established in railway coaches and private companies would run these restaurants. He further said the authority was planning to provide recreational opportunities to the citizens and increase the beauty of the city.
