TAXILA: Three persons were killed and five others injured in separate incidents in Attock on Friday, police and rescue sources said.

In the first incident, a man was hit and killed by a passenger train at a railway bridge. Zahoor Shah, 27, was crossing the railway bridge when the Attock-bound passenger van coming from Rawalpindi hit him.

Separately, a man stabbed to death his friend over a petty dispute in Dhoke Miskeen area in the limits of Hassanabdal police. Police said Noman Shabbir, 18, was stabbed to death by his friend Aamir Khan, 20, after exchanging hot words over smoking. The alleged killer fled from the scene but was later arrested.

Separately, one person was killed and two others belonging to same family were injured when the car they were travelling in hit a roadside tree on Rawalpindi-Kohat road in the limits of Jand police. Police said Araslan along with Shakir and Shahmir was going towards Kohat when the incident occurred due to speeding. As a result, Arsalan died on the spot while the two others were injured.

Moreover, three teenage friends were injured, two of them critically, after their motorcycle collided with an electric pole.

The injured were identified as Danyal Afaq, 15, Qaisar Abbas, 18, and Habib Fazal, 16.

The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where the condition of two of them was stated to be critical.
