LAHORE: Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh called on Imran Khan at his residence here and reportedly briefed him about the local government election in Sindh, its results and ensuing issues and general political situation in the province.
Mr Sheikh said the Election Commission of Pakistan’s performance remained hopeless and added the PPP’s Sindh government was busy in vindictive actions against the PTI leaders, says a PTI statement.
The PTI chairman and party leader from Sindh agreed to reject the results of poorly-managed local government elections.
Condemning the vindictive actions against the PTI MNAs, MPAs and workers as well as registration of fake cases and arrest of party leaders and workers, Mr Khan asked Mr Sheikh to coordinate with party’s Sindh organisation and raise the issue of ‘illegitimate’ elections with full force.
He stressed the PTI should educate the masses and raise voice against the PPP’s fascism.
“The PTI will not let the Karachites’ mandate fall victim to the PPP’s hooliganism and ECP’s incompetence,” he added.
Mr Sheikh said the PPP earlier kept avoiding the elections and eventually used power to steal people’s mandate. He said the PTI would launch a “massive political resistance” while operating within the ambit of the law.
