LAHORE: A sessions court on Saturday granted interim pre-arrest bail to three girl students of a private school in a case of torturing their class fellow.

The Defence-A police station had registered the FIR against four girls on a complaint of the victim’s father.

The suspects, including two sisters, study at school in Defence.

A video clip of the incident also went viral on social media triggering a sharp criticism on the failure of the school management to protect its students against bullying and physical torture.

The three suspect girls appeared before the court along with their counsel.

The lawyer, in his arguments, denied the allegations against his clients and said the whole story in the FIR was fabricated.

He said the petitioners were minors and had been implicated in the case by the complainant with mala fide intention.

He asked the court to allow the pre-arrest bail to the petitioners as they were ready to join the police investigation to prove their innocence.

After hearing the arguments, the court granted the bail to the petitioners till Jan 30.

The complainant alleged that one of the suspects was a drug addict. He said the suspect girls had assaulted his daughter on her refusal to take drugs.

He said his daughter had earlier made a video of the suspects using drugs in the school, which offended them.
