SUKKUR: Ghotki police claimed to have recovered five hostages from riverine area of Runwati within the limits of Uboauro, district Ghotki.

According to a police spokesperson, district police were carrying out targeted operations against criminals and dacoits in the katchaareas on directives of SSP Ghokti.

He said Runwati SHO Abdul Shakoor Lakho received secret information on whereabouts of hostages, and cracked down against outlaws with a strong contingent of police to recover five hostages who had gone missing from different districts.

The freed hostages are Khalil Pathan, a resident of Hyderabad, Maulvi Azmatullah Pathan and Hussain Pathan, residents of Pisheen; Mohammad Bakhsh Lashari, a resident of Kashmore, and Saeed Ahmed Khambra, a resident of Rajanpur.

He added that the police team bulldozed and torched dacoits’ hideouts.
