LARKANA: Members of Grand Health Alliance continued protest here on Monday over government’s failure to issue a notification on the demands, which were earlier accepted by a ministerial committee.

The health workers boycotted duties at Chandka Medical College Hospital and its affiliated healthcare facilities. During a token strike for two hours, they assembled outside the central OPD and staged a sit-in.

Speaking to the protesters, Shahi Khan Jagirani, president of Paramedical Staff Association, Dr Faheem Khushk, Nazeer Jatoi and others criticised the Sindh government for retracting on its word.

They said the Sindh government’s negotiating team was not fulfilling its promise to issue notification about the demands they had accepted. “We are pressing for risk allowance, professional allowance, time scale, service structure and other facilities but sadly no functionary contacted with the protesters during the 15 days protest,” they said.

The patients and their attendants were greatly inconvenienced by the strike.
