BAHAWALPUR: A minor boy was found strangled on the rooftop of his house in Kausar Colony here on Tuesday.

According to Rescue 1122, a team on a call visited the house of Arshad and found his son Abdullah (12) dead. They said the boy allegedly strangled himself. The rescuers shifted the body to emergency ward of Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) where doctors pronounced him dead.

When contacted, Civil Lines Station House Officer Ghulam Rasool Bhatti said the body was shifted for postmortem examination. Further investigation is under way.

ART WORK: Water colour art works by 186 artists were displayed at an exhibition at local museum where a large number of art lovers and others, including women, evinced keen interest in pieces.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Prince Bahawal Khan Abbasi, scion of the last Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi of the former Bahawalpur State.

ARRESTED: The Yazman city police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested two people Muhammad Naseer and Tariq for allegedly extorting Rs800,000 from a man by making a prank call.

PRO Aamir Nazir told Dawn that the arrested men had established their network in Yazman and Lahore where police raided and seized their gadgets and other material. Police are investigating the matter.
