LARKANA: Four suspects escaped from the lock-up of the A-Section police station in Shahdadkot late on Saturday night by breaking its wall.

Five policemen were suspended and three of them were arrested following the incident.

ASI Ghulam Ali Lolai lodged an FIR against five policemen on behalf of the state accusing them of negligence leading to the suspects’ escape. Those arrested and locked up were head-constable Sikandar Barejo and constables Fayyaz Khoso and Asif Ali Brohi.

According to the FIR, Fareed Magsi, facing a trial in the murder case of Abdul Sattar Khoso (who was killed in 2013), Koro Khokhar, Khuda Dino Buriro and Khadim Jagirani, broke the backside wall of the lock-up to make their escape good. A hunt was launched for the four fugitives, as well as the two policemen who had evaded their arrest until Sunday evening.

Qambar-Shahdadkot SSP Saddam Hussain Khaskheli told this correspondent that a police team headed by DSPs of Qambar and Nasirabad was assigned the task of investigating the whole episode.
