ISLAMABAD: Defending champions Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force comfortably won their respective semi-finals of the Inter-departmental National Basketball Championship here at the Pakistan Sports Complex on Monday.

Both the teams will vie for the title on Tuesday at the same venue.

In the semi-finals, Army defeated Wapda 92-65 while PAF beat the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) 93-68.

Army, who remained unbeatable throughout the championship, thrashed Wapda. Dominating the proceedings, Army ended the second quarter 45-31 ahead. Army’s ace player Tughlab Ammar impressed with 20 points while his team-mate Abdul Rehman contributed 14. Usman Khan (18) and Salman Butt (12) did well for Wapda.

In the other semi-final, PAF’s Ahmed Jan top-scored with 28 points while his team-mate Umair Jan bagged 12.
