LAKKI MARWAT: The district chapter of School Officers Association has asked the government to take practical steps to curb cheating in examinations and overcome the shortage of teachers in public sector schools.

The association’s leaders met here at Government Shaheed Mohammad Ghassan Khan Centennial Model High School No.1 on Sunday to discuss problems faced by educational institutions.

Principal Wajeehullah Khan presided over the meeting. The meeting was attended by heads of government high and higher secondary schools. The participants highlighted the problems faced by the schools and devised a strategy to resolve the issues with the help of local and higher authorities of the education department.

They said that a close liaison between the officials and school heads would pave the way for resolution of problems. They said that they would extend support to the government and officials to eliminate the menace of cheating in examinations. “The school heads and teachers can play an effective role to make the examination system cheating-free,” they said.

They also asked the government to take notice of the shortage of teachers in schools and expedite the process of promotion and recruitment to ensure filling the vacancies of teachers without further delay.
