LAHORE: The city administration and civil society on Sunday evening organised a candlelight vigil here at liberty roundabout to pay homage to the martyrs of Peshawar blast a couple of days ago.

Senior officers of the local administration and police led by Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa and CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana and civil society representatives lit the candles, paid tributes to the martyrs and prayed for them.

“The Peshawar tragedy has left the entire nation in grief. On the occasion, we all acknowledge the services and sacrifices of police officials and pray for them,” Commissioner Mr Randhawa said while speaking on the occasion.

“We stand shoulder to shoulder with the families of the martyrs on this tragic occasion,” he added. He said eliminating the terrorism and security of the masses is on top priority of the government.

On the occasion, Lahore CCPO Mr Kamyana said those involved in Peshawar tragedy would be taken to task. “We will get these terrorists punished after chasing and capturing them,” he warned.
